The activities
currently available in Laos are usually related to visiting the most
common tourist attractions, such as well-know temples, and natural
areas near waterfall, rivers or mountains that are relatively easily
accessible |
| The tourist
attraction in the town of Luang Prabang are the wats (
Buddhist temples, 29 in total), the museum which was once the Royal
Palace, Mount Phou si and the atmosphere of the city ifself. |

Wat
Xieng Thong |
| With its golden facades and
mural paintings, Wat Xieng Thong is a masterpiece
of 16th century Buddhist architecture. The temple was used for the
highest
royal ceremonies and to temporarily house the bodies of the deceased
kings |

Kuangsi
Waterfall |
| A waterfall with dramitc
lime deposits which is reached
mos often by road, usually by tuk tuk or mini bus. The water fall is 35
km from Luang Prabang town. A second route to the waterfall has also
opened, with travel by rad to Long Lao Village ( 30 km from Luang
Prabang) followed by a walk through the water catchment to the falls.
Return to Luang Prabang can be by boat on the Mekong, and some tourism
operators offer this option. Long Lao and the villages along the
othr
road to Kuang Si will be designated as tourism villages in the future
and feature the attraction of the local cutrures the Lao Loum, Lao
Theung(khamu) and Lao Sung (Hmong) |

Pak
Ou
Caves or Tham Ting |

A grotto with hundred of
devotional Buddha images
inside
it, and which can be reached by slow boat or tuk tuk. There are several
nearby villages which tourists can visit that each have their own
specialized industry( making rice wine, ceramic, weaving, and
blacksmithing) |

Pha Nom Village

A well known village for
its weaving, and is 2 km
outside of town. Phanom Village is the only village currently
designated for tourism. Near Phanom village is the grave of Henri
Mouhot, which can be visited by car, bicycle or by tourists travelling
on foot |

Tad Sae

| A stepped waterfall with lime
deposits 15 km form Luang Prabang which can be visited by care and a
short boat trip |

Nong Kiao

140 km for Luang Praban and
Muang Ngoi Gau ( 1 hour
further by boat up Nom Ou river) are area visited for their impressive
natural surrounding |
